Here's a new API endpoint: Convert any company name to a domain or website.
Every company record in your CRM should have both a company name and a domain, but it's difficult to find both pieces of data. Domains and websites are important because they're a unique identifier for a business on the internet.
For example, there's both an Apple Corps and an Apple Inc, both of whom refer to themselves as "Apple," but there's only one apple.com. (Apple Corps manages the many Beatles assets.)
This is really important for sales hackers and anyone who is trying to clean up a CRM. Disambiguating between companies is critical when updating contacts, revenues, employee counts, and headquarters.
Furthermore, you may have one source with the company name "Apple Inc." and another with "Apple, Inc.". That little comma will prevent an update process from working correctly. Most of the time your firmographic data source will include the company website, so if you have that in your CRM too then you can match on domain rather than company name.
